The Plan
My friends Chris, Paul, Zac, and I would travel across the Trans-Canada Highway and document/rate every chip stand along the way (and of course, order an abundance of fries). Our journey would be captured and turned into a six-episode documentary web-series.
Our Adventure
For weeks, we ate nothing but potato fries and gravy... and survived to tell you about it. We also met many chip stand owners who were happy to be a part of our crazy adventure.
With hours of footage, we narrowed down our fry-eating tour into consumable episodes.
The Result
The series went from being featured on newspapers, radio shows, and live television… to sending us to Ottawa, where we enjoyed a poutine picnic with the (at the time) Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Aftermath
To celebrate our five-year anniversary, we teamed up with Toronto breweries and hosted pop-up events under our Trans-Canada Fryway banner, sharing our knowledge by making our own fries with homemade gravy and fresh cheese curds. Deliciousness for all!
